Outside the Office

When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Matt enjoys an active lifestyle filled with family, adventure, and a litttle friendly competition!

As a proud new grandfather, one of his greatest joys is spending weekends in Iowa with his granddaughter.

During the summer, you'll likely find Dr. Matt on Pewaukee Lake, where he has been racing sailboats since the age of nine.  In all those years, he has missed just one summer of racing-while completing his dental residency in Utah!  Sailing has been a lifelong passion, and in recent years, he and his sister purchased a 28-ft E Scow.  Together, they've been traveling to regattas across the country, with the goal of making sailing an adventure the whole family can enjoy.

When Wisconsin's lakes freeze over, Dr. Matt trades his sailing gear for skis.  An avid downhill and cross-country skier, he has completed an impressive 26 American Birkebeiner cross-country ski races, earning the coveted purple bib.

Never one to shy away from a new challenge, Dr. Matt also took up biathalon, a demanding sport combining cross-country skiing with rifle marksmanship.  He competes locally in the Masters division and has traveled to national competitions in Casper, Wyoming, and Lake Placid, New York.  His next goal?  Competing internationally in Europe!

Whether he's on the water, on the slopes, or enjoying time with his family, Dr. Matt brings the same enthusiasm, determination, and love of learning to everything he does.
